China to increase financial aid for college and senior high school

China will adjust the scholarship and bursary granting policies for students at college and senior high school, announced by Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Education, and Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security on October . It is aimed to further improve the student financial aid system across all educational stages, allowing more students to benefit from the support policies.

For senior high schools, the total amount for national grants will be raised, with more qualified secondary vocational schools being covered. For both undergraduates and college students, the number of national scholarships will be increased, and the funding amount of both scholarship and bursary will be raised. For postgraduates, the number of national scholarships will be increased and the funding amount will be raised too.

The doctoral students supported by the central financial system will also benefit from the adjusted policies.

Relevant persons in charge stated that the adjustment was intended to reward excellence and assist those students in need and cover more student groups, motivating students to study diligently and dedicate themselves to academic research.
